We are unique. The Lezama Group is a unique business model of a social nature dedicated to enhancing human capital through quality training, innovative education, and hospitality management.

When in 1974 Don Luis Lezama opened a small tavern next to the Royal Theatre in Madrid, he did so by giving job opportunities to a group of young people with limited resources.

He soon realized that the future was about equipping young people with training and that is how the Lezama Group, which today has more than 10 restaurants and has a staff of more than 500 employees, began to take its first steps.

IRUARITZ LEZAMA FOUNDATION

The Lezama Group depends on the Iruaritz Lezama Foundation. This non-profit foundation was created with the aim of training and developing people in the workplace. Its mission is to provide comprehensive training to people in their various professional, ethical, and religious aspects.

The Foundation is based on the value of work and for the best fulfillment of its purposes it must cultivate the fields of EDUCATION, RESEARCH, and CONSERVATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

SANTA MARÍA LA BLANCA SCHOOL

The Santa María La Blanca School located in Montecarmelo, Madrid, depends on the Iruaritz Lezama Foundation. A Christian educational project that was created to help parents in the education of their children through the educational system EBI.

‘A system based on personalization of learning and working from the motivation and skills of each student to achieve the full potential of everyone. As a concerted Educational Center of the Community of Madrid, it adds to its curricular development elements that enrich the foundations of a learning process defined as Know how to be, know how to do, and know how to be present in a world of technology, communication and multiculturalism.

DON LUIS LEZAMA BARAÑANO FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Luis de Lezama, priest, journalist, writer, and hotelier. His professional activity has fundamentally been oriented towards helping young people with adjustment difficulties in a professional aspect, always with the clear concept of Not giving fish but teaching how to fish.

As a journalist, he highlights his 1972 ONDAS International Prize, the foundation of Radio Popular of Madrid and COPE, and his work as a correspondent in the Six Day War in Israel and in the appearance of the plane crash survivors in the Andes of 1972.

As a writer, he has a dozen books, among which stand out “Historias y Recetas de mi Taberna” (1993 PPC editorial), “El Capitán del Arriluze” (2015), published by Plaza and Janés, or “La Escuela del Futuro. The educational system of the Santa María la Blanca school” (2017 PPC editorial).
